How long must I wait to know if my credit card has been approved?
Our credit department takes about 3 to 5 days to evaluate your request. Once it has been approved, it is delivered to Telebanco Popular, so that one of our representatives can contact you to inform you on the status of your card and a convenient branch location for pick up.
Can I renegotiate my payment agreement?
Certainly, you only have to go to our branch located on Lope de Vega Street No. 44, in Santo Domingo. We have personnel there who will assist you and inform you of the steps you need to take in order to renegotiate the agreement.
When will I be able to use my Extracrédito again?
As long as you have additional credit available in the credit line granted by the bank, this does not present any kind of delay in your Extracrédito and in your credit card.
What must I do to report my lost or stolen credit card?
You must contact Telebanco Popular immediately, by calling (809) 544-5555 in Santo Domingo, or 1-200-5555 toll-free from the interior, and one of our operators will assist you. The operator will ask you for the number of the card, the day it was lost or stolen, where was your last purchase, as well as your name, telephone number and address. He/she will cancel your card.
What must I do to redeem the Miles that I have accumulated?
You only have to call Telebanco Popular at (809) 544-5555, in Santo Domingo or 1-200-5555 toll-free from the interior, and request assistance from an operator who will process your request.
Can someone give me Millas Popular as a gift?
The miles are not granted or transferred, but the prizes can be transferred to beneficiaries indicated by the client.
Can I put my Miles together with those of my brother, sister, husband, wife, mother, father, etc.?
The Miles can be put together only if they belong to cards of a single main client, or if this main client is added into another card.
When do the Miles expire?
The miles are effective until the month of December of the third (3rd) year of their creation.
How can I avoid having my Miles expire if I can´t use them in December by the time of expiration?
By requesting a certificate of effectiveness during the months of October, November, and December. The certificates are issued for the value of a prize,not for the number of Miles to expire, and are valid for 6 months, as of the date of their issue.
If I don´t have enough Miles for an exchange, can I buy them or pay for the difference in cash?
The exchange must be covered in whole by the Miles accumulated up to the moment of the request. The Miles are not sold, nor do you collect the exchange in cash.
What do the airline aickets and cruises include?
Millas Popular covers 100% of the rate of the airline or cruise line. The exit taxes, government taxes, tips, etc., which must be paid to the state, have to be covered by the client.
How can I pay for the taxes for airline tickets, cruise ships, etc.?
Charging them to any card of the Banco Popular. They cannot be covered with Miles or Cash.
Can I request an open airline ticket?
The airline tickete issued by the Millas Program must be round trip with a minimum stay in the destination of 3 days, and a maximum of 6 months.
Up to what age is a person considered a child for purposes of exchanging Miles?
National hotels consider children up to 12 years of age (inclusive). This does not apply for airlines since they see everyone as an adult.
What does the exchange include for a weekend?
The Millas Popular program covers a two night stay in the hotel of your choice. The program offers the all inclusive plan. It does not include Room Service, Open Plans, or a la Carte, and the limit of persons per bedroom is the one permitted by the hotel.
